We got into school and I had to drop my backpack off at the office, since today is the last day off school and the lockers were all opened I had to. “Hello office drones.” I said walking in smiling. Hey I have to do something to make me happy again.
“Just put your backpack over there and go to class.” Said the lady at one of the computers.
“Aw come on, your not being fun today.” I said while putting it down and walking out. I then walked to my first class which was math that I shared with Max.
“Are you nerves about tonight?” Max asked.
“No, last time Jack won on account of cheating, this time he’s going down.” I answered him
“I’m just asking because the meeting is always a no holds bar duel between all the squads. Last time you got hit in the back by a whip, this time god only knows what’s going to happen to you.”
“Max don’t worry about it, I’m going to ask Linda for a truce, if Jack gangs up on her squad we’ll take them out.” I said smiling.
“Its also Johnny’s squad, we know him but not his squad, they ganged up on us last time and we got crushed.” He said his tone concerned.
“Alright then we keep an eye out for them to. Now we’ll talk more at lunch.” I finished the conversation and waited till the bell rang. I then went to my next classes until lunch; we all knew that last day food tasted like shit so mine and Linda’s squad went over to Bigboys for lunch.
When we got there it was pretty much packed, high school kids everywhere. I looked all around for an open table and found one, right next to my brother Ken. He was sitting there with his squad eating and talking to each other; my brother looked up and saw me. “Seth!” he yelled from his table, his voice rumbled through the whole restraint. My brother is a big man, he weighed almost two hundred pounds, most of it muscle. His eyes were hazel and he has no hair. He is also almost seven feet tall.
I walked over to the table reluctantly, mine and Linda’s squad following right behind me. My brother looked straight at me his eyes just looking at me. I smiled weakly scared of what was about to happen. He smiled his wide grin and said “Seth, guess what time it is?”
“Do I have a choice?” I asked ready to be extremely embarrassed.
“No!” he said and then picked me up to bear hug me, he’s that big. He let me down only after he crushed half my spin and said “So, why were you already gone when I woke up?”
“My alarm clock went off and Tom needed my help, sorry I didn’t wake you.” I answered.
“Don’t worry little guy, come on Johnny’s here and so is Alice.” He said putting a hand on my head and ruffling it. We walked over to the biggest table where I saw all of my brother’s squad. Victor is a thin guy and he seems to be weak, but his kicks are the nastiest things I have ever seen. He’s smaller then Tom; and he has brown eyes and blond hair. Eric is really not a friendly soul when it comes to anything squad related, he is really your average guy, but in a fight he is cold, calculating, and always dose things at the right time. He has black skin and no hair, and his eyes are black which gives me chills sometimes. Charles is as tall as I am and he’s just as fast. I’ve never seen him in a fight so I can’t see how he dose in one, but I heard that he can sucker punch a guy half way to the moon.
Johnny is as muscle bond as my brother, he has straight brown hair and his eyes look as if there hazel. He might seem like a big jerk, but really he is the nicest guy I’ve meat. He looked at me and pointed his finger at me, his eyes and teeth set in that funny looking kind of anger. I mirrored his reaction and then we both said “You!” loudly and then we just started laughing. Eric got up and gave his hand for me to shake, and he was smiling. I shock his hand and Victor just smiled and chuckled a little bit.
“Hello, would you like a menu?” said a new voice; I knew who it was to.
I turned around real fast and saw a women with long red hair and her smile killed people. She was just as tall as me which might put a man off. Her eyes were the color of leaves which made her all the better. “Uh yes I would like a number, wait wrong place, sure the menus fine by me.” I smiled.
She looked at me her face was in a strain from not laughing, I knew what to say next. “I’M A FIREIN MY LAZERS!” I said in a really rough low voice and she just started laughing, along with everyone else in the general area.
“Seth, that was, that was great. Thanks.” She said trying to stop laughing.
“No problem Alice.” I said kindly, I looked at her shirt and I saw that someone had ether spill something on it or cried on it. “What’s with the stain?” I asked a little worried.
“Oh, one of my co-workers was crying, I tried to comfort her. I know typical Alice, always the kind girl.” She tried to smile but I knew it was half-hearted.
“What happened?” I asked.
“Well do you see that man over there?” she pointed into a corner of the restaurant. I knew who was sitting but I still looked. I saw the man from before his face was exposed and he was looking at his food, but not eating it.
“Yeah, we saw him earlier today, at breakfast.”
“Well he made one of the girls here cry, I don’t know what he said but she was beyond the simple hurt, I think he knew her and used that.” She finished. “So what do you want?” she asked but I was not focusing on her anymore. I was looking at him, his face was impossible to read.
“I’ll be right back.” I said and started walking over to the man; anger and hate were beating logic in a fight. As I walked over I saw that almost no one was sitting in a ten foot circle around him. He looked up at me and smiled. “Hello, I need to talk to you sir.” I said as politely as I could.
He did not say anything, he didn’t blink. All that happened was that a voice in my head said Sit down and talk boy. I sat down at the table, the seat, the wood, hell even the air was as cold as ice.
“Okay, first don’t talk to that girl anymore you stalker.” I said letting the words flow off my tongue with pure anger. “Second, stop sitting here and leave, you’ve been here all damn day!” I said almost at a yell.
He did not talk, he did not move, hell he didn’t even blink. All I heard was the same voice in my head say Well your perfect; you have anger and passion, both very valuable. My very spine shifted into place and I could not even move, the rest of the world started to fall away from me, and Linda was not with me to help me up. The world was going black, and my vision was becoming blurry. Sleep boy, sleep and never wake up. My body agreed with him and my mind did to.
Then another voice entered my mind, the one from earlier. It yelled Wake up! Fight this now!  It kept saying it over and over again as if it was a broken record.  I felt the anger inside me turned into resolve. The resolve to stand up and walk away. The resolve to cheat death. And I started to move
Do not move nor speak boy until I tell you to. I stood up in a flash and said “Have a good day sir.” And walked away. Stop now! Or you will die! The voice yelled in my head, I ignored it.
I walked next to a brick wall of the building when I heard a small cracking sound next to me, in the brick. I looked over and saw the wall start to warp and crack. I then saw a small ball of dark something. It was spinning in place and then quickly exploded. I felt something pass right by my cheek and felt something warm on the side of my head and on my leg. I then felt something stab right into my arm, it went in and it twisted, the pain was on a level not even a soldier would know. I heard a scream of shock and pain came from all directions. The world went black and I then felt the cold of stone on my head. Then nothing.
